WHO ARE WE?
Founded in 2025 by husband-and-wife duo Kyle (South African/Dutch) and Lily (Japanese), Snuggits is a craft-loving brand based in sunny Ballito, South Africa. While living in Japan, we fell in love with amigurumi—the art of crocheting small, adorable stuffed animals.
South Africa already has a vibrant community of talented amigurumi makers, and I (Lily) wanted to learn how to make one myself. That journey inspired us to create beginner-friendly kits with soft custom yarn, the right tools, and simple tutorials, so anyone can start crafting with confidence. Each kit is prepared with care right here at home, blending a touch of Japan-inspired charm with local love.

WHY AMIGURUMI?
Amigurumi (あみぐるみ) comes from Japan, combining ami (to crochet or knit) and nuigurumi (stuffed toy). It’s part of kawaii culture, which celebrates all things cute and charming, and is loved worldwide.
Every project brings calm, creativity, and a little smile. With our kits, we hope to make this joyful craft more accessible—whether you’re completely new to crochet or rediscovering it after years away.

For us, crafting is more than making something cute. It’s a way to reconnect, slow down, and share meaningful time. After years in Tokyo’s fast-paced corporate world, I (Lily) wanted a creative escape to enjoy with Kyle. What began as a weekend project became something we truly cherished.
